Job Description

The Victim Advocate at Regina’s Safe Alliance (RSA) supports victims of crime, providing essential advocacy, guidance, and feedback collection to improve service delivery. Under the Clinical Director's supervision, the Advocate offers non-crisis intervention and assistance with victim’s rights, compensation applications, and documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Advise victims of their rights and guide them through exercising these rights.

  • Assist with victim compensation applications and document acquisition.

  • Respond to public inquiries and offer non-crisis support.

  • Collaborate with coworkers, victims, and social service agencies to resolve issues.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong crisis intervention and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Ability to liaise effectively with community and government organizations.

  • Strong decision-making capabilities.

  • Team-oriented with accountability to the Clinical Director.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in social work, counseling, criminal justice, or related field. Equivalent life experience is considered.

  • At least one year’s experience in crisis intervention or serving victims of violence is preferred.

  • Satisfactory background checks (child abuse, criminal history, FBI fingerprinting).

Physical Demands/Work Environment

This role is flexible and can be performed remotely, though occasional travel for meetings, training, and events may be required. RSA prioritizes a safe and supportive work environment.
