    We offer individual Trauma Therapy, Safe House Support Groups, Safety Planning, and Training with a trauma-informed focus.

  • Do you offer services virtually or in person?

    Our services are mostly virtually, through phone and video conferencing. We are able to offer in-person appointments at our office.

  • Does Regina’s Safe Alliance accept donations?

    Regina’s Safe Alliance is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit funded primarily through donations and grants. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

  • What is the Georgia Crime Victim Compensation Program?

    The Georgia Crime Victim Compensation Program assists victims with up to $25,000 in compensation for expenses as a result of victimization

  • What are the most common compensable crimes that the Georgia Crime Victim Compensation Program covers?

    Child Molestation, Cruelty to Children, Child Abuse, Human Trafficking, Sexual Offenses, Domestic Violence, Reckless Conduct, Homicide, Homicide by Vehicle, Hit-and-Run, Serious Injury By Vehicle, DUI Crashes, and Assault/Battery

  • Who is eligible to receive victims compensation?

    Most victims and immediate family members impacted by crimes and violence will qualify for compensation . Click here to find out quickly if you qualify.

  • What if I was a minor when I was victimized and I now need help?

    A person who has been victimized at any point in childhood can file an application for victims compensation up to three years after they turn 18. In some cases, this deadline can be extended with a good reason.

  • As a victim of crime/violence, how can my therapy expenses be covered ?

    Your therapy can be covered up to $3,000 through the Georgia Crime Victim Compensation Program. You can learn how to apply here.

  • What if I witnessed a violent crime?

    You are more likely to qualify for victims compensation if you have suffered serious mental or emotional trauma as a result of being threatened or were present during the commission of a violent crime.

  • Can I get help to apply for victims compensation?

    Regina’s Safe Alliance can assist you with the application process, including providing support to obtain documentation related to the crime.

  • What documents do I need to apply for benefits through the Georgia Crime Victim Compensation Program?

    You need a completed Paper or Online application packet with legible signatures and a copy of the police/incident report from the proper investigative agency that lists the victim or witness’ name and a summary of the incident.   • How can I obtain a Police Report ?

    To request a copy of a police report in person, visit the Police department in the county where the crime was committed. To request a copy online, complete a records request form on the county’s website. Please note some counties do not offer online requests and some may charge a fee.

  • As a victim of crime, when should I report?

    It is recommended that you report to the relevant authorities within 72 hours after the crime or as soon as possible. This timeframe can be extended for a good reason and qualify as valid documentation for victims compensation.

  • I don't qualify for the Georgia Crime Victim Compensation Program but I am a victim of violent crime. How can I get help?

    Regina’s Safe Alliance offers individual trauma therapy on a sliding scale. Please contact us for more information about the cost.

  • How can I sign up for a Safe House Support Group at our shelter/safe house?

    You can contact us via phone or our contact form on our website to discuss scheduling and your shelter’s needs. If you are a current resident at a shelter/safe house and want to participate in a group, please ask your administrator to contact us.

  • What can I expect from a Safe House Support group meeting?

    Safe House support groups are offered in a virtual format and facilitated by a trained advocate. Group sessions are confidential and include community check-ins and psychoeducation on coping skills. Regina’s Safe Alliance offers these groups at no cost to you.
