Job Description

Support Group Facilitators provide essential day-to-day support for the organization’s shelter, ensuring a safe environment for residents. Under the supervision of the Shelter Manager, they handle daily operations, help manage supplies, and offer emotional support to residents. This role is critical for maintaining a welcoming and safe space.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain the safety of the shelter.

  • Assist residents with their daily needs.

  • Organize and manage donations and supplies.

  • Offer emotional support to residents.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Compassionate and understanding demeanor.

  • Ability to remain calm under stress.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Ability to collaborate with staff and other volunteers.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Prior volunteer experience in a shelter setting is beneficial.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

This role may require some physical tasks such as organizing supplies. The position can be performed remotely with occasional on-site responsibilities.
